Polar Bears
The greatest effect of global warming on these giants from up north is loss of habitat. The steady increase of temperatures over the past 100 years is causing the snowy polar regions to melt. The snow drifts that polar bears use as dens are melting away earlier in Spring than ever before. As these dens melt, the newly born polar bear cubs are exposed to predators prematurely. Because of this, the rate of polar bear births are decreasing.
Another problem with global warming is that the habitats of these huge bears is slowly melting away. And as the snow and ice melt, the polar bears prey is slowly moving to where the temperatures are colder. Thus the bears have to migrate to stay healthy. Before long, the bears and prey won't be able to move any farther north. As the prey die, the bears will slowly starve to death.
To stop this series of events we as humans must change our ways of lives. One way is to improve the fuel efficiency of our cars and trucks. Millions of cars travel all over the earth releasing harmful fumes into the air. Also, we must find renewable energy sources in place of oil. Finally, we must stop deforestation. These trees act as a filter for Carbon Dioxide, which is one of the compounds that causes global warming.
